Banjo Minnow Fishing Lure

Banjo MinnowI have written and blogged many times about being a tom boy and that is especially true when it comes to fishing.  Before i moved to St. Louis, MO, I was in Boston and used to love doing salt water fishing on the ocean.  Being so far away from the ocean made it tough for me until I discovered that fresh water fishing can be just as much fun.

About 5 months ago, I went fresh water fishing for the first time with my 2 best friends. We went to a lake at a state park and were my friends showed me this awesome lure called the Banjo Minnow. I had seen it on the TV infomercials a hundred times but I never thought I would end up fishing with one of them let alone loving them and swearing by them!

We started off fishing the first few weekends for pan fish because the temperatures were in the upper 90′s and everyone said that large and small mouth bass would not be biting on hot days. The pan fish were tasty and all but they do not put up much of a fight and were not very fun to catch. We switched to another lake where we tried almost 10 different lures and nothing was biting until we put on the Banjo Minnow.  It took me awhile to figure out how to use it but my friends had shown me the DVD the day before and once you cast your line a few times you get the hang on how to reel it in right.

The Banjo Minnow claims to represent real life fish in the water, including injured fish which they say makes it irresistible for larger fish.  I guess when fish see injured fish swimming in the water they naturally go to eat them. This means that larger fish will be more attracted to these lures than ordinary ones.

We have been going fishing every weekend and I we only use the Banjo Minnow. On the worst day we still caught 7 bass and 1 catfish and it was 107 degrees outside! Needless to say, we have had PLENTY of fish to fry up at our barbecues on the weekend!

The Banjo Minnow comes in 6 different colors and 3 sizes. Each lure has a holographic flash foil inside which reflects the sun and allows fish to see it from far away distances.  The kit even comes with several glow in the dark firefly lures which can be used at night.  You also get the new patent pending detachable eyes which are used as different weights for deep, middle and surface fishing.

The Banjo Minnow lures come with the “nose locking system” which allows you to change bait without cutting the line or tying knots. You even get 60 weed guards which lets you fish right inside the weeds, lots and brush floating on the water without getting tangled and any fishing expert will tell you that fishing in these spots is the best because that is where fish hide.

As a special bonus you also get the DVD on how to use these lures and the “El Sinko Hooks” which give the lures the added effect of being a real life injured fish.

I love these lures and you will too. You can order them at the link underneath the video. ENJOY!

The Floppy Indoor Golf Ball

I know a lot of folks who all enjoy playing golf. The majority of us are terrible at it but a handful of the people are usually fairly good golfers. The industry for products that will help you enhance your game is continuing to grow tremendously within the last couple of years. Many of these products are quite costly and you never know just how much they really help your game. The Floppy practice golf ball became a easy, affordable product that will enable you to work on yours short game inside. Seemed like a good idea, so I thought i would investigate it.
The Floppy is made of a woven cover and it has a precisely designed liner filled up with a secret fill. The end result is a ball you are able to hit right into a wall or even a window, without breaking, which feels, rolls and spins just like a actual golf ball.

I cleaned some space in my office to test the claim of being able to practice indoors with no fear of destroying my property. I used a pitching wedge and smacked The Floppy into drywall and windows from different distances. Hitting the ball did feel realistic and I didn’t damage anything. The ball did not even leave marks on the drywall. In contrast to wiffle practice balls, The Floppy really does feel solid and flies like you would anticipate a real golf ball to.

Pros:

Safe to Use Indoors

Feels and Flies Like Real Ball

Comes with Four Balls

Cons:

Not 100% Same as Real Ball

I am really pleased with the quality of The Floppy indoor practice golf ball and had a lot of fun smacking them around. They felt great on the club and didn’t damage a thing. They are specifically made to help work on the short game indoors and I really feel they do a fantastic job.
